Malibu brake pedal feels soft, is this dangerous to keep driving?
Noticed over the weekend that my 2019 Malibu’s brake pedal feels softer than usual, like it goes down further before the car actually starts slowing. It’s not completely dead, the brakes still work, but it’s definitely not what it used to be. I checked the fluid level and it looks okay, maybe slightly low but still within range. I’m worried it could be air in the system or a failing master cylinder, and I don’t want to gamble with brakes obviously. I’ve seen a genuine Chevrolet workshop in Musaffah Industrial Area mentioned a few times, and I’m considering taking it there for a proper look rather than my usual quick service place. But before I do, is a soft pedal usually a fluid or bleeding issue, or does it almost always mean a component is failing? And am I safe to drive it short distances in the meantime or should I stop completely?
