There’s a lot to learn from recipients of the Volunteering Wales Strategic Grant Scheme who have been leading pioneering projects that look long-term at volunteering and how we can unlock its potential. The Caru Eryri project is a volunteer-led initiative aimed at caring for Snowdonia National Park through cross sector partnership working. The project was funded by WCVA through the Volunteering Wales Strategic Grant Scheme and has made significant progress in various areas such as litter drop-off and recycling plans, staff training and volunteer management. The project has produced a report sharing its learning. a summary of which can be found here.
Caru Eryri report
The Snowdonia Society’s full report is in two parts – Part one looks at work to develop and strengthen the Caru Eryri partnership in Snowdonia, an ambitious project which delivers voluntary action to tackle pressures at key locations across the National Park. Part two looks at work to share learning across the designated landscapes of Wales with a range of stakeholders, focusing on how partners work with volunteers, in particular, between voluntary and public sector organisations.
